SAIYANS
(Saiyans are from Planet Vegeta, which was destroyed by Frieza. Saiyans look like humans, except that they have weird hair and monkey tails. During the time of the full moon, Saiyans can turn into gigantic were-apes. Saiyans are a warrior race, with great strength, power, and huge egos. They love to fight, eat, and---if gossip holds true---ummmm....shall we say....romance their ladies. Oh, and they are named after vegetables.)

GOHAN--eldest son of Goku and Chi Chi; half Saiyan/half human; one of the "good guys."

GOKU--true Saiyan name is Kakkarot; full Saiyan; sent to Earth as child to destroy all life on planet, but hit head upon landing and forgot mission; another "good guy."

NAPPA--full Saiyan; bodyguard and mentor to Prince Vegeta; total "bad guy."

RADITZ--full Saiyan; Goku's older brother, and comrade of Prince Vegeta's; also a "bad guy."

TRUNKS--only son, and eldest child of Prince Vegeta and Bulma; half Saiyan/half human; another "good guy."

VEGETA--full Saiyan; son of Planet Vegeta's ruler (making him Prince Vegeta); once a "bad guy" and warrior for Frieza, but evolves into a "good guy" throughout the course of the storyline.


NAMEKS
(Nameks are from the planet Namek, and are generally a very peaceful group of people---although they can be quite powerful warriors, if necessary. Nameks are very tall, green, and have antennae and fangs. Nameks do not eat anything---only drink water---and do not procreate the way humans and Saiyans do, as there are only male Nameks. Nameks can create Dragon Balls if they don't mind expending HUGE amounts of energy to do so (ONLY Nameks can create Dragon Balls). Nameks tend to be the "Guardians" of planets, due to their deep love and understanding of nature, creation, and the "balance.")

DENDE--Namek child living on Planet Namek; a healer, and future Guru; friend of Gohan's.

GURU--"The Eldest Namek;" lives on Planet Namek, created the Namek Dragon Balls, is HUMONGEOUS! (looks like Alfred Hitchcock, except is green)

KHAMI--Namek Guardian of Planet Earth; created the Earth Dragon Balls; trained the DBZ Warriors (Gohan, Kurillin, Yamucha, Tien, Chou-zou, and Yajirobi); lives with Mister Po Po.

NAIL--Namek warrior on Planet Namek; protector of Guru.

PICCOLO--Namek warrior on Planet Earth; was Goku's enemy, but after training Gohan, becomes Goku's ally and one of the DBZ Warriors.


EARTHLINGS

BABA--Master Roshi'sister; short and dumpy, dresses like a Halloween witch; bops around with a crystal ball that may or may not work at any given time.

BULMA--female electronics genius; helped to raise Goku; goes on Dragon Ball adventures with the gang; was Yamucha's girlfriend for 14 (?) years, but ended up marrying Vegeta; mother of Trunks and Bra.

CHI CHI--Goku's wife, mother of Gohan and Goten; loves to cook and do the homemaker thing; doesn't understand why her husband and sons always want to go off on adventures and get into fights with big, scary "monsters;" keeps Goku in line with a mean left hook and a frying pan.

KURILLIN--ex-monk, boyhood friend of Goku and Bulma; doesn't have a nose (no, I don't know why); is a very cautious person, but can be counted on when things get rough.

MASTER ROSHI--your basic "dirty old man;" was a great warrior in his prime, but now lives on an island with a talking pig and a turtle; has the hots for Bulma; trained Goku and Kurillin in their youth; has bar-b-ques and reunions for the gang to hang out together; is occasionally afraid of Chi Chi.

THE OX KING--Chi Chi's father; is also HUMONGEOUS.

YAMUCHA--warrior, star athlete, and all-round ladies' man; was a desert bandit when a teen-ager (and was Goku's enemy), but between Goku and Bulma, he straightened out and became one of the DBZ Warriors; he and Bulma have a looooong history, but ultimately she dumped him for Vegeta.

YAJIROBI--loves to eat more than anything else...except for ensuring his personal safety; is supposed to be a warrior, but is more like the Cowardly Lion in the Wizard of Oz, than anything else; only help he seems to have been to the DBZ Warriors was when he cut off Vegeta's tail---of course, he waited till virtually all of his comrades were dead, and Goku was a Saiyan pancake before he decided to do anything.


GOOD GUYS OF UNKNOWN ORIGIN
CHOU-ZOU--child, prince, warrior; looks very odd, like a painted China doll, or like he's doing Kabuki theatre; one of the "good guys."

KING KAI--short, fat, blue guy with antennae and sun glasses who trains dead warriors; trained Goku, Tien, Yamucha, Pccolo, and Chou-Zou; lives on an extemely tiny planet with a monkey and a cricket; loves to tell bad jokes.

MISTER PO PO--comrade of Khami; helps train Yamucha, Yajirobi, Tien, and Chou-Zou for Saiyan battle; takes Bulma to Khami's old space ship so she can go to Planet Namek and collect Dragon Balls.

TIEN--looks human, except for that third eye in the middle of his forehead; is Chou-Zou's bodyguard and one of the DBZ Warriors.


BAD GUYS OF UNKNOWN ORIGIN
FRIEZA--lavender and pink, scaley, with black lipstick and fingernail polish; zips around in a hover vehicle; gender is unknown/questionable; gets kicks by blowing up planets and killing innocent by-standers; wants to be immortal and rule the universe.

SARBON--tall, aqua-blue guy with a long,green braid which he plays with; can turn into a nasty-looking monster if needed to defeat his enemies; is very impressed with his good looks; one of Frieza's goons.

DODORIA--fat, pink, scaley, and lumpy; another crony of Frieza's; also enjoys inflicting death and destruction.

THE GINYU FORCE--led by Cap'n Ginyu; include Butta, Ghurd, Jheese, and ReaCoom; supposedly the toughest, meanest, most powerful fighting force in the universe; Frieza's goon squad; enjoy a spot of ballet before engaging in battle; being able to dance well, expressively, and with style is a pre-requisite for inclusion on the Ginyu Force.

FRIEZA'S ASSORTED GOONS

CAPSULE CORP--the business that Bulma's family runs; very futuristic---makes spaceships, hovercrafts, and "capsule" items (throw a particular capsule on the ground and you might get a car, or a cottage, or _whatever_).

DIMENSION, THE NEXT or THE OTHER--where you go when you die; where the Home For Infinite Losers, Snake Way, and King Kai's planet are all located.

DRAGON BALLS--a set of seven globes with stars on them, made by a Namek; if you collect all seven Dragon Balls, you may call forth the Eternal Dragon, and have a wish granted.

DRAGON BALL RADAR--a hand-held invention of Bulma's; allows the user to track and find Dragon Balls.

GRAVITY ROOM--specially-built room where the forces of gravity can be manipulated; used to increase power levels while training.

HALO--used to denote those who are currently in the Other Dimension (dead).

HOME FOR INFINITE LOSERS--in the Other Dimension; where you go if you fall off of Snake Way.

KAME HOUSE--home of Master Roshi.

NIMBUS--the mechanical cloud that Goku (and sometimes Gohan) flies around on

POWER LEVEL--how much energy you have and can use in battle (a normal, non-warrior has a power level of less than 50).

SCOUTER--a device with an eyepiece that attaches to the side of the head; it reads the power levels of those around, and can also be used as a communication device.

SENZU BEANS--little lima bean-sized beans which heal and return powr levels to those who ingest them.

SNAKE WAY--in the Other Dimension; the road leading to King Kai's planet.

SPACE PODS--one-person space ships used by the Saiyans and Frieza's forces; so small that it is only possible to sit inside them.

TRAINING--learning to focus your mind and energy, learning new fighting techniques, the way to raise your power level when not in battle.

AQUA MIST--attack used by Garlic, Jr.

BIG BANG--attack used by Vegeta

BODY CHANGE--attack used by Cap'n Ginyu

CRUSHER BALL--attack used by Jheese (Ginyu Force)

DEATH BALL--attack used by Frieza
